Otavalo Day Tour

Full day tours

Duration: Full Day

Full Day Otavalo

The tour begins with a panoramic walk north of Quito through the highlands of the sierra. The first stop will be in the Middle of the World before continuing to Cayambe, where you can taste and learn about the famous local biscuits, "biscuits". From that moment you will continue to the wonderful waterfalls of Peguche, which is a historical place, since it was used as special baths before the games Inti Raimy (Fiesta del Sol). Explore the famous Otavalo market, where you'll have the option of buying local crafts. The main market day of Otavalo is on Saturday, however, this tour can operate on Tuesdays. Your professional guide will provide an explanation of the indigenous people of this area, such as Quitu Cara and other pre-Inca groups, and some information about the city. Afterwards, you will have lunch, and then go to the beautiful Laguna de Cuicocha, which is located in the crater of a volcano and contains two green islands. An optional sail is available for $ 2. Just before returning to Quito, pass by the viewpoint of San Pablo Lake to end a perfect day.
